In our industry, there is always something to learn. In fact, that’s one of the reasons why I started this blog– it helps me keep up with industry trends, know what others are doing in the space and think through applications.
Every week I stumble upon share-worthy pieces of content, digital packages, social media campaigns, etc. from teams, leagues and others in the industry. But ecause there are so many great examples out there , and I can’t add commentary to everything, really good work (small or large) often goes unshared here.
Industry examples are a great way to get your creative thinking going though, so I thought I would start a regular column on Friday to highlight great digital pieces, social media campaigns and content from the past week. The column won’t be filled with a lot of commentary, but will serve as more of an inspiration board. I hope you find it useful in some form or fashion.
Now, without further ado, here’s the first Friday’s Finds for 06.28.2013:

We say it over and over again… there’s nothing better than seeing an athlete use social media the right way and have a little fun. Kudos to Andrew on a job well done!
2. Oklahoma State Football: OSU Campus
In my opinion, pieces like this are not only a great recruiting tool, but also a great way to keep content going throughout the offseason. More schools need to tap into the inside access they have and showcase to everyone what makes their school, campus and traditions so great!
3. Miami Football Ticket Options Page
Every ticket buying experience should be like this. Period. from the ease of buying to the conversational language chosen this is so spot on.
4. Chicago Blackhawks: 2013 Stanley Cup Champs
The Blackhawks reminded us to not over think- that often fans like it short and sweet. When it comes to winning a championship, timely content is more important than a fancy, frilly graphic.
5. Video: How Far Can Lauren Chamberlain Hit?
Kudos to Oklahoma for continuing the momentum from their recent softball championship and thinking outside the box to get funny and unique content. Again, a perfect example of what can work in the offseason!
6. @ArkRazorbacks: Connecting Their Community Through Lists (h/t @KevinDeShazo)
(1of2) We started an official #HogFans Twitter list this morning to help Razorback fans #FollowHogs on Twitter https://t.co/PMr4fJzrIP

(2of2) To get on the list tweet: “Add me to the #HogFans @ArkRazorbacks Twitter list!” You must follow @ArkRazorbacks to be added #WPS

Anytime you can make fans feel a part of your community, it’s a win. Adding people to a Twitter lists is easy, and it makes them feel like they belong to something. Additionally, this could be a really good way for schools to track and reward brand ambassadors.
Now it’s your turn to share… what great things did you see in the social and digital space this week?
